It is now customary that, every so often, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra goes to Edmonton, and that the Edmonton Symphony comes to Calgary. Aside from the obvious civic bonhomie (surely a good thing), these events allow both orchestras to lay it all out: to revel in the sonic glory of 120 musicians sawing, blowing, and pounding in glorious harmony — Alberta in Harmony, as the concert was billed.
