The Mérida Periferico continues to register fatal accidents consistently, a problem that has persisted for more than two decades without a significant decrease in its numbers.



According to the Yucatecan traffic auditor René Flores Ayora, this roadway accounts for between 20 and 25 deaths each year, within a statewide context that exceeds 400 annual traffic fatalities.
