Seven miners have been killed after a mining pit collapsed at Kassa community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Eyewitnesses said that several miners were also injured in the incident.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening while the victims were carrying out mining activities at the site.
A resident of the community, Albert Danlami, said the incident occurred at about 7pm, when the pit suddenly collapsed on the miners, describing the incident as devastating.
