For the first time, the county’s weekly respiratory virus report will not just document recent trends; it will also attempt to forecast the future.
A new version, released Thursday, will continue to report on infectious disease activity in the recent past. But a new section will predict whether hospitalizations from infections such as the flu or COVID-19 will increase, decrease or remain flat in the coming two weeks.
