The dog suspected to have attacked an 11-year-old child in Iqaluit on Aug. 24 is dead.
It was euthanized on Thursday in the care of the Municipal Enforcement Department, city spokesperson Geoff Byrne announced Friday in a public service announcement.
The attack left the girl with serious injuries to her head and face, and she was later medevaced to Ottawa for surgical treatment.
On Aug. 28, the dog’s owner voluntarily surrendered the animal to bylaw.
