UPDATE (12 P.M.)
The Bald Range wildfire continues to grow, with the out-of-control blaze now 24,820 hectares in size.
BC Wildfire Service says the growth comes as it expects “erratic, gusty winds” on Saturday.
“Our crews, aviation and heavy equipment resources have been bolstering containment in preparation for today’s unpredictable winds,” it added.
It hasn’t rained in the area for 49 days, the provincial service noted.
