A legislative committee made up mostly of members of the government’s own party is recommending the province back down on a planned expansion of the provincial sales tax.
“What we’ve seen here is the NDP members of the committee recognizing just how incredibly unpopular the PST hike is, and giving a clear signal to the Finance Minister that she needs to back away from this hike,” said B.C. Conservative MLA Gavin Dew, who is not on the committee, but has been a vocal oppon
