JetBlue is extending basic economy logic into extra legroom seats and its coming domestic first class, stripping out advance seat assignments, flexibility, and points earning on cheaper premium fares. The problem is that what worked in coach does not translate cleanly up front: basic extra legroom may push travelers back to regular coach, while basic first class may simply train passengers to buy the cheaper premium fare.
