Thousands of offenders not wearing electronic tags, report says

Almost 9,000 people in England and Wales who are supposed to be fitted with an electronic tag are not wearing one – according to the National Audit Office (NAO).
The tags are used to monitor whether offenders are complying with curfews or court orders. The NAO called it “inefficient” – although the Ministry of Justice claimed the number of those without tags was far lower.
