Cowichan Valley athletes take rugby talents to Portugal with Indigenous squad

Eight Cowichan-based rugby players travelled to Portugal with Thunder Indigenous Rugby for the 2026 Rugby Youth Festival in Lisbon, Portugal, for games on March 28 and 29.
Representing the Cowichan Rugby Club were Evie Antoniuk (Kwakwaka’wakw), Seren Henwood (Metis), on the U18 girls’ side, and Gavin MacDonald (Cowichan Tribes), Callan Norris (Alongquin), and Ryder Henwood (Metis) on the U19 boys’ side.
Toni Douglas (Cheam First Nation) and Mya Williams (Haida) were also member
