Human Fall Flat: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Review
Would you believe there was a time where Human Fall Flat didn’t have its staple online multiplayer? With 58 million copies sold and counting, the physics-based platformer-puzzler is gaming’s go-to example of a slow-burn. With its tenth anniversary around the corner, what better way to celebrate than with a Nintendo Switch 2 update—primed to attract new fans like yours truly, who somehow had never heard of this game up until just last week. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance - SEGA Villains Stage DLC review
There's nothing inherently impressive about a crossover at this point. Everyone does them now, and arguably everyone does them way too much. If you're going to do a crossover, it needs to be able to stand on more than just the concept. Shinobi seems to understand this. Always the trendsetter, Shinobi did crossovers before they were cool (or legal). Now in the age of crossover saturation, Shinobi does crossovers where the crossover itself barely matters.  The SEGA Villains Sta

Grim Seasons hands-on preview
Grave Seasons presents a brilliant concept—A supernatural murder mystery farming sim. It seems like every game in the farming sim genre is cozy or wholesome, with any darker plotlines being relegated to bits of side lore. Grave Seasons flips the script and serves you the bloody guts of your comfort character haphazardly strewn about the ground. You can save everyone, but will you? Consider this sentence a spoiler warning for a story moment that happens, but if you’ve seen any

Gallipoli hands-on preview
If you’re like me, you’ve been looking for a new FPS game to sink your teeth into. Battlefield was my go-to, but the most recent entry left me disappointed. It seems like most of the FPS games dropping on Steam aren’t my kind of genre, either. That’s why I was so excited when I ran into Gallipoli at Pax East, the latest installment of the WWI game series by BlackMill Games. I was drawn in by the large banner depicting the Ottoman front, and I stayed for the compelling

Springtime is for crowdfunding!
Forget Groundhog Day, the true measure of the end of winter should be the deluge of crowdfunding campaigns that hit the last two Tuesdays of March. So many launches, big and small (and even a few medium); no matter how hard I try to keep myself from Kickstarter, Gamefound and Backerkit, the siren’s call of some of these campaigns were just too much for me to bear. Apologies in advance for the dent this newsletter may make on your wallet, here are several campaigns that we consider notable

Company of Heroes: 2nd Edition review
2026 Editor's Choice Award Winner
I'm writing this review during the crowd funding campaign for the 3rd printing and latest expansion to the game. So, spoiler: the game is pretty good and clearly in demand. However, if we rewind a few years to when I backed the 1st edition of the game, I was very skeptical that a relatively unknown publisher, Bad Crow Games, could deliver on a tabletop experience that did the PC game justice. I'm happy to say they did indeed deliver, continued to

Pirate Borg Starter Set, Down Among the Dead, & GM Screen reviews
Pirate Borg launched as maybe the best implementation of the Mork Borg engine; I stand by my abject praise of the game, which took Borg and added some well-needed meat to its bones, filling out the mechanics with extra depth and a horrific, varied setting to explore. With shades of a certain Pirates franchise, this game's presentation of the Dark Carribean brought plenty of new ideas to the fore, like the fluctuating economy of its magical undead Ash, and the encroachment of eldritch things
