DS Interview: Chris Cresswell on The Flatliners ripping new record, “Cold World”
We’re officially one month out from the release of beloved Canadian punks The Flatliners new record, Cold World. Due out May 8th on new label home Equal Vision Records, the album is not only their first full-length since 2022’s New Ruin (Fat Wreck Chords) but their seventh studio full-length in twenty-four years as a band. And while there’s certainly more to come about the latter fact a year from now for what should be obvious reasons, suffice it to say that the hours spent writing music and toi

DS Interview: Nicole Goux and Dave Baker talk “Punk’n Heads,” Indie Comics, and Collaboration
When you make art, it can be hard to find a creative team; whether it’s a punk rock band, a group of actors and actresses putting on a play, or an improv group. Sometimes when you meet another artist with the same creative interests, it just clicks. You want to hold on to it until you see it reach its full potential. This has spawned some of the greatest collaborations. While a good number of these can last many years, others that only last a handful. If you’ve spent decades particip

DS Album Review: One Reason To Rise – “Lost and Found”
There’s no mystery what One Reason to Rise are going for on Lost & Found. This is straight up 90s-style melodic skate punk, and the band wears those influences proudly. If you grew up on Fat Wreck Chords bands like No Use for a Name, Lagwagon, and Pulley, there’s a lot here that’s going to feel familiar in a good way.
To the band’s credit, this doesn’t come off like a lazy copy job. The songs have energy, the guitars are tight, and the vocals have the right mix of melody and grit. It’s cl

DS Show Review: The Garden with support from The Partisans in Riverside, California (3/28/2026)
On March 28th, The Garden performed a chaotic show at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium, which claims to have a capacity of 1,400… it seemed like they may have oversold. This crowd was massive, hard to move in, and deeply devoted, too. Even an hour before doors there was a line wrapped around the building. By the time we got inside, the venue was completely packed already. Fans of all ages were claiming their spots, and unwilling to give up their view. The majority of the crowd were weari

It’s official.. GWAR has hit the road on their GOR GOR STRIKES BACK! Tour and ya’ll aint ready. There are shows, and then there are full on blood baths. If you live in New Jersey and your main music interest is hardcore/punk adjacent, chances are you’ve probably been to a cramped as hell show at Cinco’s. Originally operating as a small, family owned and run Mexican restaurant in New Brunswick (the flautas are killer), Cinco De Mayo gradually became part of NJ’s DIY music ecosystem over the last few years. FakeYou – “Promise to Disappear”
Montreal punk four-piece FakeYou are set to release their debut full-length album Promise to Disappear Friday, April 3, on Atlanta-based 59 X Records. This week the Bad Time Records Tour made their SoCal stop. They would have their Los Angeles show in Echo Park at the respected Echo venue. DS Show Review: Dropkick Murphys celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and 30th Anniversary with Haywire, The Ducky Boys and The Unseen (3/15/26 – MGM Fenway – Boston)
It’s been a long time since Dropkick Murphys established themselves as the premier flag bearers not just for Celtic Punk but for the Boston punk and hardcore scenes at large.
