Cypress Hill are bringing their long-running Haunted Hill Halloween shows back to NYC this year for two nights at Irving Plaza. They play Halloween itself, Saturday, October 31, with Immortal Technique and Lord Sko, followed by a second show on Sunday, November 1 with Mellow Man Ace (featuring Krooked Treez) and Planta Industrial.
Tickets for both NYC shows go on BrooklynVegan presale Thursday, August 27 at 10am ET (Password: BVHILL). If you miss out, general sale starts the next day.

Haywire sign to Roadrunner, announce new LP & video, threw $$ into the crowd at Sound & Fury, keep touring & stuff (BV-exclusive vinyl)
Boston punks Haywire are one of the fastest rising hardcore bands of recent times, and now they’ve announced their second full-length album, I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye, due October 2 via their new label home, Roadrunner Records. Citizen‘s Mat Kerekes produced the album. Taylor Young mixed it at The Pit. The album was recorded over three months in Leeds, UK and Toledo, OH, and features appearances from members of Nothing and The Aggrolites, along with other friends of the band.

Fontaines D.C. announce new album ‘Dopamine Chamber,’ share ‘Marianne,’ sang with Kurt Vile
Fontaines D.C. have announced their fifth album, Dopamine Chamber, due October 16 via XL Recordings. They reunited with producer James Ford, who also produced its 2024 predecessor, the Grammy-nominated Romance, which we called their best album yet in Bill’s review on release day, and which we went on to name the 6th best album of that year.

The Still Out reissue coming; song w/ Adam Franklin of Swervedriver (who they reformed to open for) out now
New York City indie rock band The Still Out — who we recently mentioned were reforming to open some shows for their friends in Swervedriver — formed in the late 2000s by producers Josh Stoddard and Arjun “Arj” Agerwala. Stoddard tragically passed away in 2021, and Agerwala is reforming the band and reissuing their 2008 album Crystallized in tribute to his best friend and bandmate.

ScHoolboy Q‘s Blank Face LP, one of the best rap albums of the 2010s, turned 10 in July and the TDE rapper will celebrate the album on a 10th anniversary tour this October.
