A security breach at Manchester Airport (MAN) left more than 20 flights disrupted on Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday, including one TUI flight that declared a low fuel emergency. The airport was forced to suspend arrivals after a man made his way onto the active airfield, with seven flights diverting to other UK airports and 17 more entering prolonged holding patterns.

The U.S. Navy has publicly revealed a previously little-known next-generation air-to-air missile: the AIM-424 LRAAM (Long-Range Air-to-Air Missile), officially named “Malice.”
The new missile was announced at the Tailhook Symposium held in Reno, Nevada on Aug. 22, 2026, and was first reported by The Aviation Week. United and CAE today celebrated the first phase of expansion at the world’s largest pilot training facility, adding 40 new CAE training devices (a combination of full-motion and fixed simulators) since 2022.
United’s Flight Training Center in Denver now has eight total buildings, nearly 700,000 square feet of training space, the equivalent of 12 football fields, and a total of 86 CAE training devices: 52 state-of-the-art full-motion flight simulators and 34 fixed training devices.

Tokyo Earthquake Experience At Hotel
Earthquakes aren’t uncommon depending on where you are, but I am still surprised I wasn’t hit by one when I lived in the LA area in the mid- to late 2000’s.
I remember being at the Hilt2000snjuku hotel in the late 2010s when the hotel was swaying a bit, but the Quito experience was quite something in 2016 (read more here), when the country was hit by a rather significant 7.8 magnitude earthquake that caused major damage, especially in Guayaquil.
