A Tanzanian court on Friday sentenced opposition leader Tundu Lissu to four years in jail for inciting unrest, after earlier in the day clearing him of treason – meaning he avoided a possible death sentence. The verdict follows a disputed presidential election and a deadly crackdown on protesters, in a case that has drawn international condemnation and raised concerns about political freedom in the country.
