John Paul DeJoria overcame homelessness not once, but twice, before establishing thriving ventures in the hair-care and spirits sectors. A dedicated philanthropist, he signed the Giving Pledge to relinquish a minimum of half his fortune. Through the JP’s Peace, Love & Happiness Foundation, he champions diverse initiatives, especially food security. Notably, the Grow Appalachia program has empowered countless families to cultivate their own food.
