On the eve of the midterm elections, one searches in vain for a coherent expression of the ideology that animates the widely predicted “blue wave” that will roll over the country, bringing about Democrat Party dominance of every branch save the presidency. To the extent that foundational beliefs can be detected, they posit that Republicans, particularly, but not exclusively, President Trump are “not nice,” while the Democrats, even the Mamdani radicals, are the party of “nice.”
