Coach Blanche Alverson’s first season at the University of San Diego didn’t exactly produce the turnaround she wanted.
The Toreros’ women’s basketball program finished 11-22.
But Alverson saw much to give her hope of a brighter future.
“Our approach was solid,” Alverson said earlier this week. “Our players stayed connected. The chemistry was good. I thought we laid a foundation.”
Now, Alverson hopes the Toreros can build on that foundation, starting with Monday’s season opener
