Two proposed geothermal power projects have been admitted under the quota for zero-emissions geothermal energy following the FER2 auction in Italy. As reported earlier this year, this is the inaugural geothermal auction under the FER2 (Fonti Energetiche Rinnovabili / Renewable Energy Resources 2) incentive scheme by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE). A target capacity of 30 MW has been allocated for zero-emission geothermal energy for this auction round.
