Stephen Hawking was one of the most famous physicists of his era, making decisive contributions to cosmology and astrophysics – notably the physics of black holes. Following his death in 2018 at the age of 78, Hawking’s family invited the biographer and science writer Graham Farmelo to write an authorized biography. Entitled Hawking: His Life and Work, the book has just been published by John Murray.
