TL;DR
Google is working to add a layer switcher to in-app live location previews in Google Messages.
If and when it rolls out, users will be able to toggle between “Default,” “Satellite,” and “Terrain” map types, as well as a real-time traffic overlay.
The upgrade would make location sharing self-contained, helping users pinpoint landmarks and spot delays without leaving their chat.
