The weather wreaked havoc with Orlando-area football games Friday night as a lightning storm rolled into Central Florida about 8 p.m. A number of games were stopped and will be resumed at a later date. Poinciana at Haines City, which is for the Class 6A District 9 title, was moved to Saturday night.
Lake Nona did not have weather issues, although the Lions, ranked No. 7 in the Sentinel’s Super 16 Coaches Poll, did get off to a slow start. After trailing Gateway 12-3 at halftime, Lake Nona
