After eight years sitting as a councillor, Stephen Johnston is ready to take the mayor’s chair in West Kelowna.
Johnston said he’s wrapping up his job at Kelowna Ready-Mix, picking the brain of outgoing mayor Gord Milsom, and preparing to be sworn in on Nov. 3.
The politician was acclaimed as mayor after running uncontested.
“I told Gord, ‘please do not change your number,'” Johnston laughed, noting that he feels privileged to have that continued mentorship.
