EU calls on Houthis to lift siege on Yemen’s Taiz

The European Union called on Iran-aligned Houthi forces to lift their siege on Yemen’s southwestern city of Taiz to allow the entry of humanitarian aid.

In a post on X, it said civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected, and that partners must be allowed to deliver essential goods.

Taiz has some of the country’s highest levels of food insecurity, according to the World Food Programme.
