The 1960s era was just getting underway when Poway author Candace George Conradi’s family took a chance on opening the Rathskeller Inn.
Tucked within a residential neighborhood of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the buzzing inn was part pizza parlor, music venue and gathering place for young adults.
“There was nothing like it within hundreds of miles of Coeur d’Alene,” Conradi said. “The town had 14,000 residents at the time.”
