A recent letter urging more aggressive tree trimming raises a legitimate concern: Fallen trees and branches can endanger people, damage property and disrupt traffic (“Keep trees trimmed to avoid damage, injury,” Star-Advertiser, Oct. 7). But the recent pruning of monkeypods on Halekauwila Street should not be viewed as a model for treating all roadway trees.
