SeaWorld was put on notice Tuesday by San Diego’s elected leaders that it needs to phase out most of its traditional summer fireworks shows, although the Mission Bay theme park is already on course to do just that.
The fireworks edict was part of a review by the City Council of SeaWorld’s long-delayed master plan update — the first in more than 20 years — which lays out a blueprint for future development of the largely built-out theme park, situated on city-owned land on Mission Bay.
