Jolly is living his faith
David Jolly is the son of a preacher man, but has vowed never to use his religion as a cudgel against anyone’s beliefs. “Living one’s faith” looks quite different in Jolly — or James Talarico in Texas or Raphael Warnock in Georgia — than it does in fanatics banning books from school shelves, dictating women’s health choices or declaring impending hellfire on those not living precisely like themselves. God seems deliberately to have created variety and cognitive function
