Indian police detained hundreds of protesters, including movement leaders, in New Delhi on Saturday as authorities deployed thousands of security personnel and suspended transport and telecommunications services to thwart a youth-led demonstration demanding the resignation of the country's election chief. The UN office for the high commissioner for human rights called for those "arbitrarily" detained.
