The Supreme Court stated that the appointment process for Jharkhand's DGP likely violated its previous judgment regarding officer tenure. The court issued a notice to Tadasha Singh, appointed shortly before her retirement. The Central Government argued that Jharkhand's amended regulations overstepped the Supreme Court's mandate on DGP appointments. Jharkhand, represented by Kapil Sibal, criticized the selective enforcement of these regulations by the Centre.
