Though the most recent entry in the series has been mired with plenty of controversies (in particular at launch), the Monster Hunter franchise as a whole has had a huge resurgence over the past 10 or so years; thanks in part to the explosive success of 2018’s Monster Hunter World and its equally-as-impressive MH: Rise. While the former remains Capcom’s best-selling game of all time at 30+ million, the latter has managed to hit its own major milestone – officially selling over 20 million copies.
