Starting today, Google is making its SynthID Detector tool available to everyone across the globe in English. This tool can be used to find out if an image, video, or audio file was made with AI from Google, OpenAI, Nvidia, or Kakao.

Soon, the SynthID Detector will also detect media that was created with Apple's AI tools. For its part, Google says it's watermarked over 180 billion images and videos and "240,000 years of audio content" with SynthID since it was launched in 2023.
