Last weekend, 1800 self-selected and therefore completely unaccountable members of the Green Party of England and Wales decided to declare that Zionism equals racism. Four of their five MPs had opposed the motion but Zack Polanski, the Greens’ usually super-eloquent leader, was off campaigning in this week’s Holborn and St Pancras by-election and declined to offer his own guidance on the subject. Man had more important stuff to do than save his party.
