Pope Leo XIV celebrated a special Mass in the Vatican Gardens for the Vatican Gendarmerie, the Vatican’s military police.This security force of approximately 130 people is responsible, among other things, for intelligence gathering, public order, and the security of the Pope, the Holy See, and its properties.Before the start of Mass, 15 gendarmes took their oath to officially join the corps.
