The new award is a step towards the Air Force’s planned fleet of 267 F-15EXs, replacing the aging F-15C/D Eagle and also beginning the recapitalization of the F-15E Strike Eagle fleet.
The U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing Defense on Sept. 29, 2026, a new contract for 22 F-15EX fighters as part of Lot 7, worth $2.38 billion, which will bring the total number of jets under contract to 120 units.
