A seemingly endless train crept along its tracks as motor vehicles of all types pass what is known as the Longitudinal Centre of Canada, which we visited at the location of 96°, 48', and 35" west longitude and is the geographic midpoint between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean — both of which are approximately 3,070 miles or 4,940 kilometers away in each direction.
