All documentaries are fake to a greater or lesser extent. If you doubt me, I direct you towards Werner Herzog (one of the finest documentarians of the past 50 years) and his “Minnesota Declaration” from 1999, which attempted to shoot down claims that documentary film offered an objective vision of reality.
