Professor Layton has been on a bit of a sabbatical these past few years. The latest entry came out for the iOS and Android way back in 2017, and a port of that game is the closest thing we got to a new entry during the entirety of the original Nintendo Switch's lifetime. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam has been in the works for a while now, but it wasn't until today's Nintendo Direct that we finally got a release date: December 10, 2026.
