Medical travel is supported under the Government of the Northwest Territories’ Extended Health Benefits plan as of Sept. 1.
In the past, medical travel was covered in a stand-alone policy and residents were required to submit paperwork to receive support every time they needed to travel either within the NWT or elsewhere in Canada to access essential health services.
