Not to date myself, but I came up in a time when first-person shooter video games were picking up in popularity. I latched on to "Counter-Strike" during my first year of undergrad in 2001. The whole floor of my dorm was male engineers only. It was a perfect haven for LAN parties. While some of my classmates practiced with rifles, I tended toward the "spray and pray" options.
