Diphtheria: Kano engages traditional rulers to boost vaccination

The Kano State Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC) has engaged traditional rulers across the state to intensify community mobilisation for diphtheria vaccination and other vaccine-preventable diseases.

Daily Trust reports that the move followed a recent outbreak of diphtheria in communities in Rano Local Government Area and concerns over reported casualties from the disease.

The Director-General of KNCDC, Prof. Muhammad Adamu Abbas, met with district heads under the Kano Emirate Council in Kano
