More than half of real-world adult patients with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis (UC) are ineligible for current randomized controlled trials (RCTs), according to a study published online Aug. 4 in Crohn's & Colitis 360.

But a University of Surrey study published in February 2025 found that adults could develop it: after eight weeks of intensive training, two of 12 musicians identified all 12 notes with speed and accuracy comparable to people with naturally acquired perfect pitch.
