San Diego International Airport (SAN) is emerging as one of the biggest growth markets in the Southwest Airlines network in 2026, with the carrier adding or restoring 11 nonstop routes compared with its Q3 2025 schedule. The expansion comes as Southwest continues to bolster its presence at San Diego following the opening of the airport's new Terminal 1 in September 2025.
