Dolly Parton, the singer/songwriter, actress, entertainer and philanthropist whose extraordinary career made her one of the most enduring figures in American music, has died at 80. Parton died today (Aug. 25), according to an announcement posted to her official Instagram by her nephew Bryan Seaver on behalf of the Parton family.The news arrives after a year in which Parton’s health had increasingly become a public concern.
