For the last few years, Sledgehammer Games has been the odd one out in the Call of Duty-sphere, with Activision primarily focusing on Treyarch's Black Ops series and Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare. Microsoft may have a new plan for Sledgehammer in the near future though, one that involves Halo.
Since rebranding as Halo Studios, Microsoft has kept the team pretty small. Much of Campaign Evolved's development was outsourced, and Microsoft may lean further in that direction soon. According to Rebs
