Hubballi: The union government has notified the long-pending Hubballi-Ankola railway project as a special railway project (SRP), a step that could pave way for speedy land acquisition for the proposed 163-km new broad-gauge double railway line with electrification, which cuts through the pristine forests of Western Ghats.
