Madikeri (Kodagu dist): A female elephant died after accidentally falling into a trench dug at a plantation in Andagove, near Suntikoppa in Kushalnagar taluk, on Wednesday.India’s elephant ‘corridors’ are more than just strips of forest"The elephant, estimated to be around 25–30 years old, reportedly fell into the trench accidentally and sustained severe injuries. It died at the spot. A post-mortem has been conducted," said deputy conservator of forests Abhishek.
