A 23-year-old female student lost her life after being hit by an autorickshaw while crossing the road at the Jnanabharathi campus, following which the Karnataka government provided Rs 10 lakh in compensation to the family. She was identified as Manasa, a student of the first-year postgraduate degree in the Department of Visual Arts at Bengaluru University. The student was a native of Nanjangud in Mysuru district.
