SISAL, YUCATAN — Environmental group Aak Kuxtal Sisal reported the death of 13 sea turtle hatchlings in the coastal community of Sisal, attributing the loss to an attack by feral dogs.
The incident occurred overnight after a sea turtle nest hatched inside the local conservation enclosure. Tracks located around the nesting site revealed that while several newly hatched turtles managed to reach the ocean, a pack of free-roaming feral dogs intercepted others before they could complete their trek
