Iran backs Volker Turk reappointment to UN rights chief
Iran has signalled its support for Volker Turk to be reappointed as the UN human rights chief for a second term despite US, Israeli and Russian opposition.
In a post on X, Iran's diplomatic mission to Geneva said that "we remain confident in the High Commissioner’s continued efforts to confront the gravest international crimes, including genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity".
